Update

All,

Everything is going great with Pierce. He did well with the surgery and we were back at home the next day. He is doing fantastic and is moving his tongue around, swallowing with the Passy Muir Value on and also can hear something with the tubes in.

I just cannot post to this as regularly as I would like but I am going to try something new. If you noticed, I have now embedded my Twitter Feed on this page...its on the right.-------------->

Hopefully I can post quick tweets and pictures so that you all can get updates more regularly...that being said, you can tweet right back in the feed...feel free to post something to my feed.

Hope all is well with everyone. We are all great here!

Today is the day

Alright, so I suck. Sorry about that. I realize that a lot of you keep track of Pierce through this blag and although it was intended to be more regular, once we got out of the NICU, I just kind of let it go by the wayside. I feel as though I primarily update this when we are in the hospital, like we are today. I will attempt to be better about posting here more regularly.

Today we are in the hospital for surgery. Today is the day that he will get tubes in his ears to release the fluid, repair his cleft palate and reverse the tongue lip adhesion. This is a big day for Pierce and also for us. I think that this surgery is going to be great and is going to make a difference in his development. The doctors (aside from one) seem to be a bit more aprehensive; however, I dont really care. I think, these are important surgeries and cannot hurt.

Anyhow, Nicole and I have just finished breakfast after having waited for a couple of hours for him to get into the OR. I will update this after the surgery is finished and let you all know how everything went. I am imagining that it will go swimingly.

In the meantime, check out the photo of Pierce's spralled across Nicole upset and sleeping since we woke him up at 545 am. HA!

We will be in the PICU for a couple of days so I will blog while there. Stay tuned for some additional updates and pictures.

Go Pierce!
